I’m passionate about candying pretzels because it’s the perfect fusion of sweet and salty, crunchy and smooth. I love experimenting with flavors and coatings, turning a classic snack into a unique, irresistible treat that surprises and delights with every bite.

After 34 years of teaching middle school math, I felt it was time to turn the page and begin a new chapter. I wanted to channel my energy and passion into something fresh and fulfilling. Inspiration struck close to home—watching my daughter thrive working farmers markets and a close friend building a successful charcuterie business was so special to witness. 

Their joy in sharing food with others lit a spark in me, and I knew I wanted to be part of that world.

That’s when Penelope’s Pretzels was born—well, almost.

I began experimenting with pretzel flavoring, crafting unique, delicious blends with a playful twist: a boozy flavor. After perfecting six flavors, I hit a roadblock: what to name this new adventure. 

Then came the perfect inspiration—our first grandchild, Penelope. And just like that, the name found me.

Penelope’s Pretzels is a celebration of family, fun, and flavor. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
